Barnum Branch Technology Docents, volunteer at the Barnum Branch Library.
The Denver Public Library is recruiting docents to join our team of skilled staff.
Docents will work directly with the public sharing their technology knowledge and expertise, patience, and customer service skills in a branch library setting. |
| Duties: | Assist DPL customers with the use of computers, software and the Internet in scheduled one-on-one appointments and/or plan and teach computer or Internet classes to multiple customers.
Technical skills required: Microsoft Office any version, (2007 preferred) especially Word - Resume creation - Web applications including setting up and using email and social network accounts and completing online forms and job applications.

| Qualifications: | Qualifications: Enjoy working in the evolving world of computer technology - Desire to teach - Good people skills including patience, cultural sensitivity, establishing boundaries and mutual respect - Ability to troubleshoot, and experiment with trial and error - English, Spanish or Vietnamese preferred.
Successful completion of the background check, including criminal and/or library usage.
Successful completion of the shadowing process.
Six month commitment required.
